It is crucial to understand the struggles of the ADHD brain in the morning. Picture this: the alarm clock starts ringing at full volume, but your mind refuses to follow suit. The majority of those with ADHD have mornings where it feels as if they have been placed on a battlefield where time management, proper function and focus seem to abandon them. The dread of tackling the day’s demands can lead to an ongoing spiral of tardiness, frustration, and anxiety. To tackle this challenge of getting out of bed, it is important to understand how ADHD affects one’s brain. Some fundamental traits of ADHD, such as impulsivity and time blindness, come into play during the morning routine. Such traits tend to leave those with ADHD to feel extremely overwhelmed. 

While mornings may continue to present unique challenges for those with ADHD, it's possible to create strategies that make the process manageable. The key is to approach the morning with a willingness to adapt.
