How to Maintain a Healthy Skin Care Routine with ADHD

Imagine an organized and manageable skin care routine simple enough to be done in a time-efficient manner. Does it sound impossible to you? It's not unusual for those with ADHD to get distracted by multiple different things before getting to the first step of their routine, let alone most young women who try to follow up with their skincare. Therefore, put together here is a mind-busting easy solution to stay on track with your beauty needs.

STEP 1: Keep your products organized and simple.

For someone with ADHD, the key to an effective skincare routine is getting it done promptly and efficiently. No one likes a clutter of messy products scattered in a box while you pick around until you find the right one. So, an essential step to keeping organized is as simple as finding a multi-compartment bin that holds your items neatly together and on hand, where you know where to find them. Like me, you’ll have many products that are never used and sit at the bottom of your beauty bag. Removing any items you know you won’t use will help clear up space for a few simple items. Keeping only foundational items with more than one function will also help with effectiveness, item storage, and simple routine. For example, lotions double up as toners and exfoliators, as well as makeup pads you can bring anywhere with you on the go. Also, if you are just getting into the routine, consider buying small sets of pre-assembled products that sell as bundles of moisturizers, toners and even exfoliators. Having a few staple items and 1-5 steps in your skincare routine can help keep you on track and avoid distractions. Finally, keeping your products near toiletries (such as toothbrushes and toothpaste), can be beneficial to remember to do your skincare. Consistency is key!

STEP 2: Number out your steps for your skincare routine.
